Aloha Friday-Week Eleven

TGIF!

It is almost St. Patrick's Day and I have regained, for the most part, the ability to chew. Food, especially solid foods, are on my mind. (It has been a long 4 weeks on a liquid /soft diet).

The question for today is: Do you have a favourite St. Patrick's Day Recipe or food?

Visit An Island Life for more fun Aloha Fridays.

I never have been much of a St. Patricks day celebrater so the food is whatever we are eating that day. Maybe with the kids this year I'll try Green Eggs and Ham since Cay has been talking alot about St. Patty's day!

No, but we have some friends coming for dinner on Saturday so I am going to make some potato and corn chowder, Irish soda bread, and some sort of Irish bread pudding dessert.

Not really. I have to think of a green food to send in with my son for his kindergarten class on Tuesday. Hard to figure out thanks to food allergies in the group.

Hubby likes Corned Beef..and I forgot about that...hmm...wonder if I have to make that. Maybe his parents with have us over for dinner! :) I'm not a big meat eater..so I'm not a huge corned beef fan but will eat it if I have to.

My mom makes an entire Irish spread for St. Patty's Day. We'll all get together on Sunday for it. Cabbage is my favorite.

Have lots of Irish on me mums side - ha! We don't really do anything special, but have some friends that usually have a party with Green Beer and yummy cornbeef and cabbage - although I'm not a huge fan of cornbeef - theirs is delicious!

Nope, no Irish food. When we lived in England we always went out for Irish stew though. Yummm

Sendin caramel love your way, I don't like anything green except peas. I don't even like money.
Just another little quirk o' mine.

Even though I claim to be part Irish, I don't like any Irish food.....just green beer!

4 weeks! You must probably be just a tiny wee woman by now! Maybe you will be able to have a Reuben sandwich come St. Patty's Day? If not then go with some Lucky Charms softened in milk!

Not a holiday I normally put any thought into. Sorry!!! I always think of green beer and that is about it. I am sure that is't what you want since I am willing to bet you are sick of the liquid diet.

I've got nothing on this one. Hubby makes some pretty great stuff at work but I never go out there on that day. Too busy!!!

Green beer, but since I gave up beer for Lent this year, I'll go with my second favorite green drink. Midori and pineapple. YUM!

A long, long, time ago I used to be quite the bar fly and I we used to go to this one Irish pub on St. Patricks Day. We would get sloshed on green beer and then they would start selling corned beef sandwiches... OH those were so good! I tried them sober though and realized, not so good when not drunk.

Never really celebrated St. Patrick's Day except for wearing green to school. Don't tell the leprauchans, but I tend to forget about the holiday until it's half way over.

Nothing special, I'm not a corned beef and cabbage fan. I've been looking for a fun dessert recipe though, would like to do something fun with my son.

I don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I'm not even sure if I'm Irish. I don't mind boiled cabbage, though.
