Wordful Wednesday-Moscow Style

Wordful Wednesday Moscow Style circa 1990. My camera was not overly impressive and then I had to scan them, so please forgive the quality. Also the sun was never out..

* I just found out DH decreased the resolution when he scanned these, which explains the size and graininess. I apologise.*

First off a lovely photo of Red Square. Lenin's Tomb is on the left.

A group of us in front of the entrance to the Kremlin in Moscow. Yes, I did perm my hair before heading to the former USSR. Next to me will become the man I marry, at the time I would have told anyone they were crazy! Almost 20 years have passed and I am so glad we met and eventually married. FYI: I do not wear those glasses anymore.

A truly bad picture of St. Basil's Cathedral, which in daylight and not through snowflakes, it looks like a Gingerbread House.

A cleaned up version of my photo thanks to Tonya

I shall end my tour at MGU (Moscow State University).

To view other Wordful Wednesday blogs head over to 7 Clown Circus the host of Wordful Wednesdays.

It must have been such an amazing experience........but, it looks really, really cold. :)

Wow, I'm so inspired!
My 4rth grade teacher loved "Russia" (hey it was a long time ago) and she had us do unusual things like draw St. Basils. But it made me want to go there some day.

My husband was there at the same time! I was there in 1996. It's such an interesting place!

I'm still in awe that you lived in Russia, and that you had a perm! It must have been so interesting to be part of that culture for some time, and also meet your hubby there too!

Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos and memories.

You are so lucky! I hope that I can go there someday. My great grandmother is Russian and I grew up celebrating the Russian Orthodox holidays. There were always pictures or carved paperweights of those buildings around our house growing up. I would love to see them in person. Even though the pics are scanned they are still awesome to look at. Thanks for sharing!
