Wordless/Wordful Wednesday-Easter

To save time (darn deadlines) I am combiningWordless Wednesday with my Wordful Wednesday!

Easter Sunday. I am still in love with my boys Easter Baskets. I commissioned the baskets to be made for my boys about 14 1/2 years ago. Each one is different in design and each is woven with stands of colours that were (at the time) their favourite colours. Click on the picture to see the wonderful job the skilled crafter did with the baskets. I am so glad they have special baskets, personalised for them, to always remind them of their childhood.

Great WW. Those baskets remind me of the ones I had as a kid.

Maybe one day they will be able to fill them for their own children. What a nice thing to pass down.

That's so much fun! I love it. I had the same basket growing up, but it wasn't personalized. That's really sweet.

Your boys must be angels because we have gone through many baskets through Nathan's childhood. He just beat them all to death. Up until about 5 years ago and now we have the same one we reuse over and over.

Of course they are angels... you raised them right. While me on the other hand - I guess that is probably why you all call me trouble, huh?

What a great idea! I keep using the same baskets but thats only cause I know that they aren't old enough to remember what last years basket from the Easter Bunny looked like! I love the idea of having nice permanent ones though.

...So...next year I'm TOTALLY buying a nice basket for Alex and his little bro/sister. I want my little ones to have their own, memorable baskets. :)

They are gorgeous! Do you pull them out any other time of the year? Or do you display them?

Those are beautiful baskets....my girls were telling me this year that their baskets are too babyish now, and they need an upgrade.

I am so impressed by those unique baskets. That is such a wonderful idea. They may just look like baskets to us, but they will grow to LOVE those baskets forever. Maybe they will even pass them along to their children. That is so special.

Happy WW from the Mostly Wordless Wednesday HQ :o)

That's so neat! I love that the baskets have lasted and are an heirloom of sorts. We generally buy those silly $1.00 buckets from wal-mart, but that is such a great idea! :-)

I can see why you love those; I sure wish I had gotten special baskets when my boys were little. I just kept buying them and throwing them away.
What a special thing to do!

That is nice to have personal baskets. I am so cheap by nature that I end up with the the cheap baskets and I keep them as long as possible.
