Era? Aloha Friday

Seeing how it is Friday, today's question is going to require as little brain power as possible.

The question for today is: If you could live in any time period, which would it be? If you feel up to is, please share why you would live in the time period chosen.

I really would like to have lived in the Victorian times. With that being said, I must mention that I would have had to be of royal blood. The work was far too difficult in that time period for me to make it unless I was wealthy.

Visit An Island Life for more fun Aloha Fridays.

I would totally live in the 50's I don't know why, but I absolutely love that time period.

Another is back in the Camelot days... I'd like to live in a castle!

I agree with Amanda. I think life was a bit more care free and children were safer in the 50's.
I asked my husband this question and he said right now because of all the modern conveniences. I have to agree with him too but the state of the planet, the world and especially our country worry me terribly.

50s for me, too! It just seems like a great time to have been an American.

I can't decide between the 60s {my fav show is Mad Men} or in England in the late 1790s. I would want to be wealthy in both circumstances. Live a charmed life. Love the fashion. Aloha and take care.

I'm thinking it would be in the Roaring Twenties! Lots of good times were had back then~~~the invention of cars was just taking off and there was lots of money to be made by enterprising inventors. A brave new world so to speak......
Okay and I'll admit that the flapper parties and the clothes were kind of awesome as well!!!

I'd go back to the 70's or 80's before we got bogged down with so much technology... kinda silly to say while I'm blogging, but I think life was a little simpler then.

Probably the 50's ... Though I also day dream about being a flapper, and a disco diva {minus the drugs} at Studio 54... It's fun to imagine what it would be like.

I agree with Amanda - the 1950s! I've found that I have almost disgustingly traditional views on homemaking and I'd probably fit right in. That being said, what would I do without the internet?

Now! I love the modern conveniences and modern necessities. And even more, I love the struggle between good and evil that we're facing right now. It's exilerating.

Have to admit that while I would love to visit say, medieval times I would be hard pressed to want to live in any other time. I mean, I love my creature comforts & I would have hated to have been a woman back in time. Just think of all the modern conveniences that they didn't have. *shudder*

I'm going with 60's. There was great music starting around that decade. I think times were simpler then.

I think I'd like to live in the 60's. I've seen all these wonderful old photos from when my parents were just starting out and would love to experience that time period.

I'd like to live in the 60's and early 70's, minus the s & d. I love the clothes, cars and music from back then and I love to burn incense and candles.

The 60's.... I would be staying home with my kids instead of leaving them to go to work everyday.

Is it so horrible that I would say the 80s? LOL!

Ooh boy this is a difficult choice to make..

I have several! Since perfecting the Finger wave in Beauty School, and most of the hairstyles in that era I'd have to pick that one. LOL

I think I might make it!

I'd certainly live in the 1890's. The ballgowns, the courting, oh... yes. That would be my time.

By the way I love your new side buttons, they are so pretty!

I have several figurines from the Victorian era. I love the dresses and style of that era.

There is a writer, named Rashi. He lived in about 1400 I believe. I would love to know him, so living in that time would be awesome also.

I think I would pick the 60s. The times looked fun, carefree and I could see my parents when they were younger.

I'd like to live during the Renaissance. However, I would want to be able to go without a corset and not be treated like a wench.

I'm not being lazy by copying your answer. I would REALLY love to be from the Victorian years. My mom makes reproductions of the clothes and we dress up and have high tea at a local, outdoor, historic museum. We've done this since I was 3 or so. :) I love the clothes and frills.

Is it weird to say I would maybe like to live in bible times? I just want to know if it really happened like that lol

I'd totally live in the 50's! I love the fashions...dresses and hair....and music! What a fun time! (then I would totally skip the 60's and go right to today...kinda like the movie "blast from the past" LOL)

I think I would choose the Victorian era too - there is something very classy and appealing about it!

For me it would be a cross between the 1950's, and the "Jane Austen era" as I like to call it. Any time period where women always wore dresses! :o) I love being girly!

Oh-I forgot to say, Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

lol I was just thinking of this last night after watching "Lost in Austin" Have you seen this?

I would love to also live in Victorian times..but like you said..without royalty and money during those times.. ugh that would be an awful way of life! Can you imagine brushing your teeth with chalk? lol UGH

I agree 100%
I'll go with being a wealthy aristocrat during the Regency period or Victorian would work. I'm sure if I had a past life I was a scullery maid though :(

JamericanSpice said...

I would say the 1920's....Hopefully that's the right era. I love the idea of dressing all pretty and being a lady and having men woo me properly. And I'm also thinking that I'd be a spicy woman then too because I cannot stand boring ...swooning blah and I'd be one of them riding bareback on a horse :)

What can I say, I want to be courted the proper way :)

There are so many eras I would have loved to experience!! But I always think it would be great to live in the mid 1800's and join in on a wagon ride to the west coast!
